Sukamade Beach in Banyuwangi (Pantai Sukamade)
Sukamade Banyuwangi Beach is a beautiful beach within the Meru Betiri National Park area. These attractions are included in the category of conservation tourism because the activities of turtle conservation and their habitat on Banyuwangi Sukamade Beach are the main menu of activities in this national park. Sukamade Beach is a habitat for giant turtles that are starting to be classified as rare for laying eggs. In this coastal area there are also semi-natural hatcheries to hatch sea turtle eggs that have been collected by officers. Visitors can watch turtles directly lay eggs, see turtle breeding and participate in the activities of releasing sea turtles to the sea.
Sukamade Banyuwangi Beach Location
Sukamade itself is a hamlet that is still included in the Sarongan Village area, Pesanggaran District, Banyuwangi Regency. The location is in the Meru Betiri National Park area, located in the direction of Rajekwesi Beach and Teluk Hijau Beach. If you have arrived at Teluk Hijau and have enough time, the distance is around 15km. Even though the distance is relatively close, but it takes about 2 hours to reach it, considering the rocky terrain and the must cross the river, it is very promising adventure that challenges adrenaline.
Facilities at Sukamade Beach Tourism
For accommodation there are two lodging options, in the village and around the beach. In addition there is also a camping ground for travelers who prefer to stay overnight by setting up tents.
Other facilities in the form of places of worship (prayer rooms), public bathrooms and stalls which are generally only open on holidays. Because of its location in the middle of the forest, electricity is very limited on this beach. There is no electricity network, the officers use generators for electricity needs.
