Green Bay (Teluk Hijau) Banyuwangi

Green Bay is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Meru Betiri National Park area. This beautiful beach is surrounded by hills, soft white sand and the sea water on shoreline is clear green with color degradation from green, turquoise to dark blue. On the wall of the hill nearest the beach there is a small waterfall about 8 meters high, which in the rainy season drains quite a lot of water. Sometimes, a group of gray monkeys can also be seen roaming the trees around the beach. In the Green Bay, we can swim, play water, and hunt beautiful photos. If we use a tour service, we can order to burn fish and drink young coconut on this beach.

Green Bay is located in Pesanggaran District , precisely in Sarongan village. It located about 90 km to south of Banyuwangi town. To reach this beach from Banyuwangi we just follow the directions to Pesanggaran-Sarongan-Sukamade, that are still one lane of route to Sukamade beach, Merubetiri National Park. For those who give visit to this bay, the vehicles can be parked near Rajagwesi beach then we can walked to Green bay as far as +/- 2km. There is also a parking spot closer to the Green bay, but the roads are inadequate.

To go to the green bay you can go through two alternatives:

Land routes

We have to go to the peaceful bay area where you have to pay the entrance fee beforehand at the guard post in the Ox River area. Then you have to walk down the hill and through the footpath as far as 1 km. After 30 minutes to 1 hour by road, you will arrive at the rock beach. The waves that break the rocks along the coast of Stone Beach or Sand Stone combined with the tropical jungle air, will be the first sight before reaching a beautiful paradise hidden behind a hill. The journey then continues from the distance to the green bay rock beach only 300 meters away, you just along the stone coast you will arrive in a beautiful paradise hidden.
Sea routes

For this route you have to stop at Rajegwesi beach. By renting a boat from a fisherman. Besides that the travel time is relatively shorter. Splashing gulfs and meeting the ocean currents off the Indian Ocean make the journey so thrilling and awesome. Along the way the fishing boat will take you to see a line of beautiful hills and rocks that lie along the way, it takes 20 minutes by sea to reach the green bay and arrive at the green bay.
